January 1st 2011 my severance ran out and I was officially unemployed. I was home alone for the countdown.
I started full time at City College taking physics and math classes, ostensibly for an engineering transfer.
HealthySF wouldn't pay for ADD meds so I went off them.
Living on $405 a week, I taught myself to cook and do motorcycle maintenance. Indian food and a valve adjustment. We threw a couple dinner parties.
I went through a difficult breakup with Sara and was depressed for a while.
I got pretty good at tetris.
I played Frank Chu for Journey to the end of Night.
Somehow got some gigs doing apache stuff. So weird.
Made a viral craigslist post about burning man.
I proposed to Krissia and we got married on June 25th in our home town of Santa Rosa.
I went to Juplaya with Eso. Also backpacking at Henry Coe.
I accidentally got hired at a tech startup. I didn't realize I was being interviewed, I just thought they had a lot of questions.
That same night, motorcycle accident. Hit by a Corolla in an intersection. Open Tib/Fib fracture, on crutches for the next two months, missed all the summer fun.
Started dating Sara again, it lasted about a month. Learning how to be just friends.
Started a new semester at CCSF but couldn't keep up and dropped most classes.
Bought a used car so I could get to work.
I made an ARG for monochrom's Arse-Elektronika and showed off my brain-controlled vibrator.
I started enjoying IT again and became a workaholic because it's stuff I've wanted to dive into for a while. No more microsoft servers!
Went back on ADD meds.
Played trumpet in Jonathan's video about Maru the cat.
The wifi network in the office made me hate life for a few weeks. It was a driver issue.
A visit to Seattle over Halloween. Haunted houses with p00n.
A trip in Tahoe with friends.
A decent first date. Potential.
Kris got a second home with Arsenio in San Rafael.
Rearranged and furnished our apartment, bought a storage unit and moved out the clutter. It looks like grownups live here. First time I've ever felt comfortable at home.
Ended the year surrounded by friends at a house party.
Resolved to focus on computer skills this year.

I'm on Camano Island, it's relaxing. I can't seem to relax unless I'm dragged out of my environment. Even now I'm watching honeybees and multitasking on the laptop. Oh well.

I've dropped down to one Art history class- the modern art history which I found more interesting. I met with a prof from the engineering department about possibilities in the field. I like industrial design, but more for the functional design than aesthetics. So I think I'll be ending up doing a degree in engineering with an emphasis on ID. I'm not sure if a minor is offered, will have to check that out.

We also figured out that I can avoid falling behind in math this semester by training myself to place directly into Calculus instead of Precalc. To that end I'm doing watching lectures at the Khan acadamy and buying the book. I've never had the discipline to do this level of technical learning outside of class, so this will be a major victory if it works.

Cute finch like birds flapping around in the tree next to me. Smells nice out here too. Think I'll get off the computer for a bit.

Also, K has a steady job and the summer of our financial discontent will be overcome soon. Also did not go to burning man. Also introduced some Tazmanians to Balsa Man. Also Slim Jenkins played an awful lot of shows last month and I'm starting to take solos. Also I miss a bunch of people.

12:40 am - school again

I'm enrolled in classes again in the fall, ccsf. 4 Pre-reqs for a design degree and a gym class for a total of 14 units. Technically full time, although if I weren't working I would take more. Although I found 6 very difficult to juggle last semester, since most of these are art units I think I can pull it off. Just cannot allow myself to fall behind even a little bit.

retraction: last weekend camp tipsy didn't go off, K got a kidney infection instead
I toured CCA, looks rad, but I will go one more year to CCSF to save money.
Today, anniversary lucky 13, toured around santa rosa, picnic in howarth park, boats. Gonna get back to it-

Everything's moving so fast now that i'm in school. Trading learning for producing.
Spent all saturday with grandma and perrin, recorded some audio of family stories

Monday night band practice is fun.
L-tyrosine seems to be helping focus a bit.
